Weymouth Junior Legion must ‘learn how to win’ Mark Ducharme Special to the Weymouth News  The 2020 baseball season was supposed to be a special one for Weymouth American Junior Legion. Junior American Legion coach Jeremy Anderson and his assistant Paul McElroy, Senior Legion coach Mike Connelly and General Manager Peter Sheridan started their work at the end of 2019 to successfully bring the state tournament to Libby Field. However, the 2020 American Legion season was wiped out because of the COVID pandemic, which forced the Junior Legion team to make changes. The team had over 30 players try out for a position before the season began, and the coaches created two teams with all of these players.
