More than 53,000 people have signed an online campaign imploring First Lady Jill Biden to undo the controversial changes made by Melania Trump to the White House Rose Garden.
The petition on Change.org was started in March but has gained significant traction in the past week. It is aiming for 75,000 signatures.
Titled Restore Jackie Kennedy s Rose Garden, the petition features “now” and “then” pictures of the garden, highlighting how Trump stripped it of much of its colour and character.

A new petition is calling for first lady Dr. Jill Biden to reverse the changes her predecessor, Melania Trump, made to the Rose Garden in the White House.
Even before her husband President Joe Biden s inauguration in January, there had already been calls for a redo of Trump s revamp of the Rose Garden, which included the trees being dug up and colorful floral beds being replaced with white and pastel roses. Liz Tapanes, a Memphis, Tennessee, resident, has taken it one step further and started a petition requesting Biden to restore Jackie Kennedy s Rose Garden.

She and her husband may have hoped for another four years in the White House, but come January 20, 2021, First Lady Melania Trump will have to say goodbye to the home where she uprooted Jackie Kennedy s Rose Garden, among other controversial decisions during her time there. (Actually, according to a February 2017 report by
US Weekly, a source close to the family said that she was miserable in the White House, so she s probably not going to miss it one bit.) The soon-to-be former first lady was no stranger to controversy during her four years of sharing the spotlight with soon-to-be former President Donald Trump. In addition to her weird renovations of the presidential manor, she also made some rather odd (read: racist and insensitive) fashion choices, like the obvious sartorial shout-out to Africa s violent colonial past she wore on a safari

Other than in men, I think Melania Trump usually has pretty good taste. I remember people got very mad that she changed Jackie Kennedy’s Rose Garden landscaping, but I think the new, more low-key look is actually an improvement. I even liked her Christmas decorations.
Someone who does not have good taste in much of anything is her husband, President Donald Trump. Before he moved to the White House, the man lived in the tackiest, most garish apartment I’ve seen in my entire life. He also eats his steak well-done with ketchup which is insane and if you do that you may as well just eat kale so nothing has to die for your dry, chewy, terrible meal.
