TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Hosting the No. 1 ranked team for the first time in five years, Florida State could not cross the plate in Wake Forest’s 10-0 win Friday night at Dick Howser Stadium. Delayed an hour due to lightning, the game was played in a light drizzle for much of the night.
Wake Forest starter Rhett Lowder improved to 11-0 with seven shutout innings. FSU managed just four hits against the projected first round pick, lowering his season ERA to 1.52.
The Demon Deacons scored two runs in the second inning against Jackson Baumeister before a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Brennen Oxford pitched 2.2 innings against his former team, allowing just one run on one hit. He has allowed only three hits and a run over his last six appearances, spanning 9.2 innings.
Wake Forest tacked on four runs in the eighth inning for the run-rule victory.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State hosts the No. 1 team in baseball this weekend when Wake Forest comes to Tallahassee for a three-game series. The Demon Deacons – ranked No. 1 for the first time in school history – are 18-5 in the ACC and 40-7 overall. The Seminoles will recognize four graduates and senior athletes – Nander De Sedas, Colton Vincent, Brandon Walker and Brennen Oxford – in a ceremony prior to Saturday’s game.
Friday night’s game will start at 6:00 p.m. with Saturday’s game slated for 3:00 p.m. and Sunday’s match-up at 1:00 p.m. All three games this weekend will be streamed live on ACCNX. TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Jackson Baumeister allowed a pair of runs in the first inning, but none over the next six as Florida State beat Mercer, 4-2, Friday evening in front of 3,873 fans at Dick Howser Stadium. Baumeister’s 7.0 innings pitched matched a career high and he evened his record to 4-4 on the season. Titan Kamaka had two RBI – a go-ahead home run and a double in the fourth inning – and Treyton Rank had three hits, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Mercer took the early lead with a pair of runs in the opening frame before Baumeister settled in. The Jacksonville right-hander allowed just three runners over his final six innings; he struck out eight hitters to win his second straight start. FSU scored a single run in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings to take the lead. Colton Vincent hit an RBI double and drew a pair of walks, while Rank tied the game with an RBI single in the third inning. Rank’s RBI came after James Tibbs stole his fourth base of the season,
