Lakewood Local School District's Jackson Intermediate is one of up to 100 schools in the country recognized for exceptional student achievement in 2023.

Former and current teachers, students and staff, young and old, filled the 109-year-old building for a final open house.

Mark Morscher of Granville, an electrical and computer engineer, goes to local schools through an Ohio State College of Engineering program.

Steps are already being taken to move Hebron Elementary students to the Jackson Intermediate campus for next school year, as Lakewood Elementary.

“They say it takes a village and we’ve got quite the village here at Lakewood,” Brittaney Crider said.

Reynoldsburgs Hannah Ashton Middle School opened in 1868 and is one of the oldest school buildings in Greater Columbus.
