BELCHERTOWN – Permanent protection against non-agriculture development of 436 acres of meadows and forest is now in progress at the Lampson Brook Farm property.
This milestone was celebrated on the property Thursday at an event organized by state Sen. Eric Lesser, D-Longmeadow.
It is just the beginning of a process to ensure the bucolic space is forever preserved, he said. It builds on past efforts going back decades, following closure of Belchertown State School dairy farm, on which much of the property formerly was part of.
