A Milwaukee-area popcorn shop that struggled to survive at the start of the pandemic is now expanding. Continuing Coverage: Coronavirus in WisconsinThe process and the popping are the same, but now Goody Gourmets' owner Jacqueline Chesser has way more room to do it all.The popcorn shop now has two locations -- one in Shorewood and a new one in Glendale."It's been a long journey," Chesser said."What were some of the hiccups you came across?" WISN 12's Hannah Hilyard asked."Sometimes it's just finding contractors that are a good fit for the project, or sometimes, it's just not knowing what you don't know," Chesser said.Add in a pandemic that forced Chesser to lay off half her staff.It turned a one-year project into four years."How does it feel to be standing in your fully finished kitchen?" Hilyard asked."You know, a great sense of relief, a great sense of relief," Chesser said.Due to the pandemic, Goody Gourmets is still doing curbside pickup only and hopes to get customers inside the new location, sometime this summer.But the extra space is not just for popcorn customers.
