The safety measures that became part of people s lives were evident even inside bars and pubs when residents cautiously returned to their favorite watering holes at 5 p.m. Feb. 24.
Earlier that day, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero announced bars and taverns could resume operations, with several conditions in place.
But that didn t seem to bother the patrons.
Many establishments were busy all weekend welcoming and serving their customers. It was a triumph for the owners who hadn t served an alcoholic beverage for 200 days, since August 2020.
Bars, clubs, pubs and taverns were among the last wave of Guam businesses to get approval to resume operations.
