Rival clubs alerted by Bombers contract status By Jake Stringer’s contract situation at Essendon is one to watch as the year unfolds. Sportsday host Sam McClure understands that rival clubs are aware that Stringer, who joined the Bombers from the Western Bulldogs in 2017, is coming out of contract. Given Stringer played just 10 games last season and has been troubled by soft tissue injuries – what is the forward worth? “I did want to raise a contract situation which is star...

Stocks down: Did Cale Hooker walk under a ladder or shatter a mirror during the week? He should have either been paid a mark, paid a free kick for a marking infringement, or a free kick for front-on contact with ...

Carltons on-ball conundrum continues By They have too many on-ballers and not enough centre bounce opportunities to share around. On the weekend, Sam Petrevski-Seton finally returned to some semblance of a midfield role for the Blues and played his best game of the year. This was only possible because he was substituted on for a midfielder, Paddy Dow. Petrevski-Seton had been dropped following 18 months of indifferent form in the back half and one week back on the wing. The former top-10 draft...

Where Moore struggled and the question marks over De Goey By 2021-05-03T08:30+10:00 It was another disappointing weekend for Collingwood as their season crumbled around them, slumping to a fifth straight loss. The Magpies were at times completely listless in their 24-point loss to the Gold Coast Suns at the MCG, kicking just two goals in the first half and struggling to keep up with their more youthful opponents. Dissecting such a loss would no doubt be a difficult task for coach Nathan Buckle...
