Construction is due to start this year on Noosa s $40 million first day hospital. Noosa Council gave the go-ahead to plans lodged by Bli Bli developer Richard Tallents in 2018 for the day surgery and medical specialist facility. Innovative Planning Solutions consultant James Brownsworth said GemLife would be seeking a final debate and vote at the council s March ordinary meeting. The reason for the deferral is to simply allow more time to communicate with the decision makers to respond to the officer report, Mr Brownsworth said. He said with the planning report only becoming publicly available last Friday and GemLife wanted a bigger engagement window of opportunity to make councillors and the community fully aware of the project s benefits. The proposed new Cooroy Golf Club if the GemLife retirement resort goes ahead. Mr Brownsworth said more than 740 jobs would be created through construction jobs on the site at the golf club and the ongoing operation of the retirement village.

It addresses a historical shortfall of convenience retail and office opportunities at the eastern end of Chancellor Park estate, he said. A development application has been lodged for a retail and residential at 310 University Way, Flame Tree Pocket, Sippy Downs. It includes multiple SOHO (Small Office Home Office) spaces. The development Master Plan anticipated the provision of small scale commercial uses on this site, but it has never been delivered until now. Reed Property Group has developed Flame Tree Pocket which welcomed its first residents in late 2015.
