did evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the monterey conference center for the final event of the 15th anniversary season of the panetta institute lectures degrees. 15 years. as you know, this year, we have been discussing the revolutionary changes that have affected our nation in this new century and have been reflecting on what the transformations mean for our democracy and for the future. we discussed the arab spring in the middle east and the hope for peace and democratic reforms in the wake of some much turmoil. we heard the long and short perspective on economic changes that impact our future. and we look for inspiration from our founders and past presidents and as we witness the changes in the role of the presidency as the electorate appears to decide again who should lead our nation. throughout each of these discussions, there has been a common element that has touched each topic. from the uprising in the middle east, to the crisis in the global economy t
following this week. there are another eight days that are 6/30 days or some number is or 8, 6/30 days, so we don t have much time to deal with pressing, including dealing with middle class tax cuts to make sure that working people in this country, who are having a hard time making ends meet don t get an increase in their taxes on january 1st. can the gentleman tell me what he expects the schedule to be in the month of july? i would respond to the gentleman and say to the gentleman again if he looks at the schedule, we are scheduled and having in accord with that schedule, in session more days this year than we were in a similar year last session. so, i would say to the gentleman the schedule is right on track, the predictability, the certainty of this schedule has allowed for the work to continue, and we will be here throughout jult. our intention is to continue to focus on job creation. we will le looking obviously towards the supreme court and what its actions may bring
