The state of North Dakota is trying to attract crypto miners by offering "the world’s cleanest crypto." With $3B already invested and with $3B in the pipeline, crypto mining companies are taking notice.
Miners of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Etherium have turned attention to North Dakota in the last year, and some state leaders see the booming sector as one pathway for diversifying an economy dependent on oil and agriculture.
Event put on by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce included experts from the banking, energy, agriculture, technology, retail, manufacturing and retail sectors.
“Please arrange for more persons from Ukraine to come to North Dakota. Please develop options including a fast-track path for those fleeing the Russian invasion, family connections, and a special admission process into the US based on humanitarian grounds. North Dakota is ready to help these people in this time of great tragedy," Sen. Tim Mathern, D-Fargo, said in a letter to Gov. Doug Burgum and President Joe Biden.
