In a matter of minutes, all seven Manatee County commissioners voted in favor of allowing county employees to carry concealed firearms to work.

In a few weeks, most Manatee County employees won't have to leave their firearms in their personal car or at home when they come to work.

County employees in Manatee County will soon be able to be armed at work. The Manatee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the policy Tuesday morning. 

Manatee County staff will be allowed to carry firearms while at work starting in July, on the same day Florida is lifting licensing requirements.
