FBI: Albuquerque Special Agent In Charge James C. Langenberg Retires After More Than 25 Years Of Service

James C. Langenberg, who has been the special agent in charge of the Albuquerque FBI Division since August 2018, is retiring from the FBI after a career of more than 25 years.
“It has been an honor and a privilege serving as the special agent in charge of the Albuquerque Division,” Langenberg said. “Throughout my career, I have focused on the people, the partnerships, and the mission. The entire FBI team enabled me to succeed in New Mexico, and I will be forever grateful for their enduring support.”
The FBI has released the identity of an Albuquerque man accused of shooting and injuring an agent last week as the agent attempted to serve a search warrant.
Derick Garcia, 32, faces charges of assault on a federal officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence in the Friday incident in Albuquerque, which left the FBI agent hospitalized, according to a news release issued by the bureau.Â
The statement said Garcia shot the agent around 7 a.m. that morning. The agent was transferred to University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.Â

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. A man made his first court appearance Tuesday after being charged with shooting an FBI who was helping serve a federal search warrant in northwest Albuquerque.
According to a criminal complaint, Derick Garcia, 32, was being served a warrant pursuant to an investigation involving threatening communications relating to the purported kidnapping of a former FBI special agent. KOB 4 has not confirmed what those communications involved.
Garcia reportedly fired a shot through the front door after agents knocked and identified themselves. He was taken into custody after the shooting.
The agent was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be oK>

ALBUQUERQUE – Derick Garcia, 32, of Albuquerque, has been charged in a criminal complaint with assault on a federal officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
Garcia is scheduled for an initial appearance at 9:28 a.m. today in federal court.
According to a criminal complaint, at 7:20 a.m. Dec. 11, Garcia allegedly shot a special agent of the FBI as the agent was in the process of executing a search warrant on the premises.
The agent was wearing a marked vest identifying him as an FBI agent, and agents had knocked, identified themselves as FBI, and announced that they had a warrant. The injured agent was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for care.
