Hefajat leader critically injured after being stabbed in Dhaka

A central leader of Hefajat-e Islam was critically injured after being stabbed by an unidentified assailant in Dhaka s Lalbagh area yesterday evening.
Maulana Jasim Uddin, assistant secretary general of Hefajat, was receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for wounds on his back.
Jasim Uddin was first taken to DMCH. From there, he was moved to a private hospital and then later he was brought back and admitted to DMCH.
Dr Alauddin, resident medical officer of the hospital s emergency department, said the condition of the patient is critical and he is being given blood.
