MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kris Ehresmann, a key figure in Minnesota's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, will retire next month after more than three decades at the state health department. Ehresmann, the Minnesota Department of Health's infectious disease director, announced Thursday she will be stepping down Feb.

One of Minnesota's leading voices of health will be walking away from the spotlight in early February, as MDH Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresmann retires.

Gov. Tim Walz announced on Wednesday, Jan. 19, that more than 100 nurses will start arriving at health care facilities around the state beginning immediately.

Kris Ehresmann, a key architect of the states response to the COVID pandemic, will retire in February after more than 30 years at the states health agency.

Kris Ehresmann is no stranger to health crises, and her experience at the Department of Health runs deep.
