Korean content worth checking out amid period of staying at home and self-isolation

Korean content is in the spotlight again after Minari was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. So, during another stay-at-home and self-isolation period, it is a good time to check out some interesting Korean content.

An assassin, Tae-goo (Uhm Tae-goo), kills gang members and is on the run to a beautiful island, Jeju, where he meets a terminally-ill woman, Jae-yeon (Jeon Yeo-been). After spending time together, the two feel connected. However, this is not a romantic movie. Night In Paradise is a bloody and brutal action movie with a plot twist.

In 2018, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee decided to dispense some fatherly advice to his Kim’s Convenience co-stars prior to the cast’s first group trip to Los Angeles.
Perhaps Lee was channelling his role of family patriarch Appa, a character who is prone to dishing out pearls of well-intentioned if occasionally wrong-headed wisdom.
