SINCE March 2020 the tearoom at the Hospital of St Cross has been closed to visitors. But thanks to a generous grant from the Friends of St Cross the hall has been carefully renovated during the closure. The work was planned and overseen by Louise Bainbridge (Seymour and Bainbridge Architects) and carried out by Hospital staff and specialist contractors. The picture shows John Pringle, chairman of the Friends cutting the re-opening ribbon, with the Master of St Cross, Rev Terry Hemming, Jonathan Cooke, chairman of the Trustees of the Hospital of St Cross and Janet Rowland-White, the HMH co-ordinator. The Hundred Men’s Hall tearoom is open Monday to Saturday 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30 to 4.30pm, Sundays 2.30pm to 4.40pm.
