NORWALK, Conn. – Kadeem Roberts, a Norwalk Common Council member, was arrested early Sunday and charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Interfering with a 911 call.
Attorney Darnell Crosland, representing Roberts, said he’s confident the truth will come out and exonerate Roberts.
Roberts is a Democrat representing District A. Mayor Harry Rilling and Democratic Town Committee Chairwoman Eloisa Melendez both used the word “unfortunate” in response to the arrest.

Norwalk Police say they got a call at 2 a.m. Sunday alleging a disturbance on Fair Street. “The victim told officers after a night of drinking the victim got a ride from Roberts, and they began arguing in Roberts’ vehicle. The vehicle stopped at their destination where the argument continued,” Lt. Jared Zwickler wrote Monday.

NORWALK A city councilman has been asked to enroll in anger management classes after being charged in a domestic incident in which police say he assaulted a woman and tried to stop her from calling 911.
Kadeem Roberts, 29, was charged with third-degree assault, interfering with a 911 call and disorderly conduct after police were called to a disturbance around 2 a.m. Sunday.
A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attacking his boss with a shovel.
Milian Lemus-Perez, 27, of Norwalk, was arrested around 4:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, when officers responded to Chestnut Hill Road for a fight, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.
Officers arrived on the scene and found a man with significant facial injuries from being struck with a shovel, Zwickler said.
The victim told officers he was plowing driveways when Lemus-Perez, who he hired as a day laborer, demanded $60 for a house he shoveled, police said.
During the argument, Lemus-Perez struck the victim in the face with a shovel and left the scene, Zwickler said.
