SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –The Sioux Falls Fighting Wiener Dogs hosted their 14th Annual Wiener Dog Races at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center Saturday night and defeated the Omaha Lancers 8-1. Six different players scored for the Dogs, while goaltender Trent Burnham stopped 22 of 23 shots on net.
The Omaha Lancers opened the scoring with a goal at 8:56 of the first period. The league leading rookie-scorer Ayrton Martino put a puck past goaltender Trent Burnham for his eleventh of the season, with the assists to Ryan Lautenbach and TJ Schweighardt. Wiener Dog forward Arlo Merritt took a holding penalty at 9:49 of the period and, with the Lancers on the power play, Luke Toporowski scored his ninth of the season beating goaltender Jakub Dobes to tie the game.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede hosted their annual Pink in the Rink Night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center Friday and defeated the Sioux City Musketeers 4-3. The win extends a seven-game point streak of five wins and two overtime losses. Sam Rhodes, Brandon Chabrier, Luke Toporowski and Michael Citara all scored in the contest, while Trent Burnham made the start in net.
The Sioux City Muskeeters scored first in the annual event where the ice is dyed pink and the players wear specialty jerseys in tribute to those who have been affected by breast cancer. Carter Loney tallied the goal to put the visiting team in front at the 7:08 mark of the first period. The only goal of the period was assisted by team leading-scorer Brian Carrabes and Ben Steeves.

LINCOLN, NE (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Lincoln Stars 10 to four Friday night at the Ice Box. Seven different players tallied goals for the Herd, while Cole Sillinger tallied his first career USHL hat trick in the contest. Christian Stoever made the start in net, stopping 30 of 34 shots on net.
The first game of a three-game, road trip weekend could not have started any worse as the Lincoln Stars opened with two quick goals in the first seven minutes of the period. After James Stefan and Jake Beaune tallied goals for the Stars, Stampede Head Coach Marty Murray called a timeout. Thirty seconds later Cole Sillinger scored his fifth goal in six games for the Herd to get within one. Luke Toporowski provided the assist on the play.
