BRIDGEWATER – Donald Richard Cann, 63, of Bridgewater, passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.
He was born in New Haven on Sept. 30, 1957, and was the son of the late Edwin Cann Sr. and Florence Lupoli Cann. Don proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked along with the U.S. Navy as a special intelligence communications operator.
He spent most of his adult working life in bar and nightclub management, and was affectionately known in the Woodbury and Greater Waterbury communities as the lead bartender at Carlito’s of Woodbury Restaurant.
He is survived by his brothers, Edwin Cann Jr. and Louis Cann; nephews Jason Cann, and Quintin (Victoria) Cann; niece Aubrey (Nicholas) Schoenfeld; and his beloved fiancee Alison Birks and their dog Moxie, with whom he shared a deep appreciation for the natural world, especially plants and birds.
