PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - Thousands of people are receiving their second dose of the vaccine this week. Getting that second shot is a critical move in the vaccination process, according to health experts.
At the Jackson County Fairgrounds on Thursday, the line moved quickly as many showed up for their second dose. Getting the second injection is crucial to ensuring that the vaccination is effective.
Multiple positive cases have been reported after people received their first dose, said Jason Ely, Singing River Health’s Director of Primary Care.
As the roll out begins for the COVID-19 vaccine, Gulf Coast residents 75 or older got in line at Jackson County Fairgrounds. JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - In Jackson County, the Singing River Health System vaccinated hundreds of seniors 75 and older on Thursday.
Jason Ely, the director of primary care specialty services for Singing River Health System, had the chance to administer the COVID 19 vaccine to his father.
“My dad has done so many things for me growing up, supporting me in my nursing career and all the things that I’ve done,” said Ely. “And to be able to offer him something and give him something personally that he was able to help me be able to do meant a lot to me.”
