Scholarships planned in memory of Larson, Englert Feb 20, 2021 Hundreds of Manson Northwest Webster Community School District students discovered their love of learning in the kindergarten classroom of Tricia Larson. And hundreds of MNW high schoolers learned mathematics from Jason Englert. But last year, COVID-19 stole those dedicated educators from their students and colleagues. Larson died in July. Englert, who at the time was teaching in the Belmond-Klemme Community School District, died in November. Their losses were a heavy blow to their fellow teachers and their past and present students. To honor the memory of their co-workers and friends, two MNW teachers, Jan Nelson and Stacy Origer, have established two new scholarships for students who want to go into teaching. One scholarship will be for students who want to go into elementary education; the other will be those seeking a career in secondary education.
