With two members citing serious concerns, the Executive Council voted 3-1 to give Shawn Jasper another five-year term as commissioner of the state Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Farms on Wednesday. In a second vote, the council unanimously.
Councilor Joe Kenney, a Wakefield Republican, cast the lone no vote, citing farmers’ fears of retaliation if they disagreed with Commissioner Shawn Jasper.
