Stuttgart’s senior girls ease past Little Rock Mills, 64-26
Winless Little Rock Mills could not slow the streaking Stuttgart Ladybirds on Wednesday night as Coach Allison Handy’s team notched their fourth conference win of the season.
The Ladybirds were led in scoring by Emma Banks’ 14 points. Ashton Ludwig followed her career-high 11-point performance against Lonoke by scoring 13 against Mills.
Stuttgart led 15-4 after the first quarter and 37-14 at half time. Truly, the game was never in doubt.
The Lady Comets come to Stuttgart on Monday night of this week to finish the season series.

Stuttgart played their best half of the season in the first half on Friday night. The Ladybirds carried a 21-8 lead into the locker room and looked to be in total control of the game.
In doing so, Stuttgart limited their turnovers to nine in the first two quarters while Mya McCoy delivered six second-quarter points to lead all scorers.
Stuttgart’s defense was most impressive to watch in the first half. Using a 2-1-2 zone, the Ladybirds kept Wynne out of the lane while also doing an excellent job on the defensive glass.

At 2-5 entering the game, Stuttgart’s match up with Lonoke was a must-win for the Ladybirds to have any hope of climbing into the top half of the 5-4A conference.
The Birds trailed 11-4 after the first quarter, largely due to six first-quarter points from Lonoke’s Kayleigh Thompson. Thompson scored 14 points for the game.
Stuttgart closed the gap to 17-14 by half time. Katherine Payton led all scorers in the first half with seven points. The junior continues to provide steady play in the post for Coach Allison Handy.
