A guard at a Miami, Florida, juvenile detention facility is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old inmate.
Javontate Richardson, 30, worked as a security guard for the Miami Girls Academy detention center when he allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old inmate.
Richardson was arrested and charged with two felonies, one count of sexual battery of a minor by an adult, and one count of sexual misconduct with an inmate, NBC Miami reported.
Police said the teen told her youth care specialist Monday that she had sex with Richardson. Management at the detention center reviewed security footage and spotted the alleged incident in the surveillance video.

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Public Schools officers arrested a 30-year-old juvenile detention center employee on Thursday, accusing him of sexual battery.
The alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl who was an inmate at the state-owned Miami Girl’s Academy, a 30-bed detention center at 3300 NW 27th Ave.
The teenage girl reported Javontate Richardson to her youth care specialist, who notified management. Surveillance video confirmed the girl’s allegations, police said.
According to the arrest form, Richardson admitted the victim’s allegations were true. He faces two felony charges: sexual battery on a minor by an adult and detention facility employee sex misconduct with an inmate.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A juvenile detention center worker who is accused of sexual battery on an inmate appeared in court on Friday in Miami-Dade County.
Javontate Richardson, 30, was a youth care worker with security responsibilities when a 15-year-old girl in juvenile detention reported him, police said.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools officers arrested Richardson on Thursday. According to the arrest form, Richardson admitted the victim’s allegations were true.
Miami-Dade County Judge Lody Jean denied his bond on Friday and ordered him to stay away from the victim. Richardson’s defense attorney, Tara O’Brien, filed a plea of not guilty and demanded a trial by jury, records show.
