(Rockford, IL) - A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing rampage Wednesday afternoon in Rockford, Illinois, that left four people dead in 20 minutes, including a U.S. postal worker and a teenage girl, and seven other victims injured, police said.

It has been a heartbreaking week for the Rockford community after two separate stabbings have left five people dead.

Christian Soto, 22, has been charged with 11 counts, including murder, attempted murder and home invasion after he allegedly went on a stabbing spree in Rockford, Illinois, killing four people

The beating did not stop until the suspect announced he was going upstairs to get a gun, said authorities. The sisters' friend then called the police and then ran outside to get help as Jenna Newcomb and her sister were unable to move.

The victims killed in what police called a "senseless act of violence" in a neighborhood in Rockford, Illinois were identified.
