the president trump campaign manager who said this entire spectacle has always been about the democrats trying to undo the legitimate results of the 2016 election and today they again failed miserably. heading into today s hearing a new fox news poll conducted over the last three days found that only eight percent of the people polled said there was a strong chance that mueller s testimony would change their mind about president trump. 49% says there was no chance. and since there were no major revelations to come out of today s hearings, it s unlikely that many minds were changed, shannon. i think probably just dug in where they were. kristin, thank you very much. so mueller as predicted relied almost exclusively on the 448 page report saying many times he couldn t or wouldn t answer questions. but tonight democrats say their fight is far from over in fact it s just beginning. joining me to answer that is president trump s personal attorney jay sec low, good to have you with us. t
absolutely. he s got something. right. and i m sure the president is anxious. chris, a few weeks ago, the president in an interview with the new york times said that mueller looking into his personal finances, finances at his business unrelated to russia would be what was it called a red line. now we have a response to this new cnn reporting that you just saw from jay sec low, the president s personal attorney, quote, the president s outside counsel has not received any requests for documentation or information about this, any inquiry from the special counsel that goes beyond the mandate, specified in the appointment, we would object to. how do you think the president is going to react to all of this? not well. would be my guess. now the question is does he react not well and fume in private and not well and fume in public with twitter or let s see. after i guess, but look, i do think, gloria and i were talking before. this is a test of john kelly. john kelly was brough
restore order and organization. now everyone says well, yeah, we re going to make it more orderly and more organized. who s the person in that white house that needs to be the most orderly and organized? donald trump. he is the one particularly as it relates to this probe it s a witch hunt, a hoax. he says we re going to get rid of mueller. but, if he crosses this red line. i think you have to watch his rhetoric. obviously he has a speech later, campaign style speech which he usually rips and says things john kelly wouldn t like. but then also, what is the recourse that statement there by jay about anything that goes beyond the direct probe here which is about russia and the election. well, clearly it s now gone beyond that. so they would object to it, well what does that mean? does that mean we re going to object to it, but we know getting rid of bob muler is a no go? does it mean trump might fire bob mueller? obviously we re not there yet. but when you say things like that, the
releasing the sanctions. i think anybody looking at it objectively would know that s what a statement would respond to. it is insult to say the statement has no inaccuracies. it s a lie. and kellyanne conway and sanders and the rest of them are lying. sanders is worse than spicer in terms of lying. it s gone downhill. and the president should have nothing to do with the russian investigation. he should be focussing on his job, rather than trying to obstruct justice. mark, on this issue of who s lying because it will say in the case of jay, it s going to matter. he came on television and said something that is factually untrue. multiple things. saying he weighed in, right? they re admitting weighed in. okay. so either he decided as a prestigious lawyer to lie on television again and again and again knowing the truth or the president lied to him. other people lied to him.
seemed to confirm it. now one of the president s lawyers, jay sec low, is saying, no, he is not, in fact, under investigation. the president was citing that washington post report when he sent out that tweet on friday. here s more of what sekulow had to say on soviet uni state of t should we take the tweet as confirmation that the president is under investigation? let me be clear, the president is not under investigation. the president said, i am under investigation even though he isn t under investigation? that response on social media was in response to the washington post piece. you re saying that the president when he said that was not crowd? no, the president it was 141 characters, there s a limitation on twitter. the president thinks there should be no confusion. the president is not under investigation. it is confusing. reporter: after months of white house officials telling us we should take the president s tweets at face value, we should
