Renowned Indian scientist, Professor Jayant Murthy, has been honored by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) with the naming of an asteroid, previously known as 2005 EX296, as (215884) Jayantmurthy.

The satellite will seek to understand the sources of x-rays and study blackholes. The satellite is set for launch on board the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle from Sriharikota, and is only the second mission of its kind in the world after NASAs 2021 mission named Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer.
