The Crown dropped charges against Dr. Jean-Robert Ngola last week in connection with failing to quarantine after a trip to Quebec. In the provincial legislature Tuesday, Higgs challenged the physician to waive his privacy rights so he can share what he knows about last year’s COVID-19 outbreak in Campbellton. In a statement following the comment, Dr. Ngola’s lawyers, Joel Etienne and Christian Michaud, said the premier is unfairly singling out a racialized Canadian with no justification and the “clock is ticking” for him to apologize.
