As revealed by StarWars.com today, the event that crops up the most in these upcoming stories is the Republic Fair, meant as a symbol of the unification and inclusion of the Republic and its newest member planets, as well as a place to share knowledge, technology, and even.uh.seeds! It’s a real county fair, it’s just that the county is tens of thousands of light-years long. According to the tome, a mind touch is more indicative of what the technique actually is, as the Force is, apparently, used to alter a mind by reaching out and touching it.
This simple gesture is enough to make the recipient to feel or think anything the Jedi wants, as fans have seen countless times in the past.
The technique was of course used to help Rey (Daisy Ridley) out of a bind in The Force Awakens when she was captured by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and Obi-Wan Kenobi again in Attack of the Clones.
