Douglas Wooten, 39, was arrested on January 7 on charges of felony murder, home invasion, armed robbery and cruelty to children in the second degree in connection to the death of 54-year-old Marcos Ramirez, according to the bureau.

Wooten, 39, surrendered to local authorities on January 7 and was booked in the Jeff Davis County Jail in Hazlehurst, Georgia after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation press release, Wooten and three other alleged accomplices, were charged with felony murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and cruelty to children in the 2nd Degree.
The arrest of Wooten and the others are in connection to the death of 54-year-old Marcus Ramirez. He was found dead with gunshot wounds after the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on January 4 that someone had been shot.

HAZELHURST, Ga. (WALB) - Four people have been arrested following a homicide in Hazelhurst, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Douglas Regional Office.
The GBI said Kegan B. Bennett, 39, Denver L. Wooten, 18, and Verlyttia Ivory, 32, all of Hazlehurst, were arrested Tuesday for felony murder, home invasion, and armed robbery. Ivory was also charged with cruelty to children in the second degree.
An arrest warrant was issued for Douglas L. Wooten, 39, of Hazlehurst, for felony murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and cruelty to children in the second degree, according to a GBI press release. He turned himself in Thursday and was booked into the Jeff Davis County Jail.
