is. still a category 3 storm. winds of 115 miles an hour whipping around with this hurricane. let s zoom in closer here. you can see, i mean, just jacksonville has been getting hit so hard with the rain. we re talking eight to 12 inches of rainfall along florida s coast here. georgia starting to get really hit too by that rain. the winds coming in. then you got the storm surge to add on to that. seven to 11 feet. that s what we re dealing with. look at all that rain coming down around the here is a look at matthew s forecasted track over the next couple of days here. starting out a category 3 storm. it s going to continue its track to the north and curving along the coastline. still expected to be a three as it goes by georgia but weak being to a two as it gets to charleston, south carolina. it s going to get really close to shore there though according to the models. so that a very dangerous situation. as it continues its track we re expecting it to continue to depression as
nhp says the car jacking suspect hit curbs, even another car on the freeway. it s likely the chase ended bus the suspect needed another car because his was not able to be driven if this escape was to continue. at this point is his car is on rims. he s ran over curbs. he s struck other vehicles. so his car is pretty much done at that point. so he bails in the parking lot, run yous into, i called it the vehicle drop o find finlay. runs up to a cadillac that s got a 90-year-old couple and violently pulls this man from his vehicle, throws him to the ground. craig: live where this investigation is unfolding. it is an officer-involved shooting. the second of the year for nhp southern command for a trooper under southern command for nevada highway patrol. the investigation moving forward behind me. and we ve been told that the suspect who was involved in the las vegas, he is 28 years old. he is in stable condition now. shot in the torso. but there was a woman who had that toyota
the afternoon. this is a picture of what we re seeing right now in the las vegas valley. and mainly areas west of 15 are seeing the light showers. we do have a couple of showers around the help area. moving off to the north and east. now we also have some showers coming down between pahrump and sandy valley. this is some of the heaviest showers that we re seeing right now. again, moving to the north and east, moving into the spring mountains, they actually had a li isn t that crazy this morning? here is a look at the bigger pit you are seeing the showers tracking northeastward. this was the band that was left of the band that we were dealing with this morning. that s continuing to produce some thunderstorm activity near lake mead national recreational area. we re watching this second band moving its way through. take a look at this time-lapse. this is from the morning. the south east career and technical academy camera. you can see waves of showers moving their way through. n
turning out to be the big story of today. news 3 is your weather authority. let s get to chloe beardsley with a look at conditions. it feels like we woke up in the pacific northwest this morning, and the rain showers, well, they re starting to taper now. but take a look at this band of moisture really trekking through southern nevada throughout the afternoon. as we get in closer, you can see it is lightning up when it comes to showers. mostly to the east of us, you see right there northeast direction at the moment with the showers coming out of the southwest. here s a look over the last few hours. we ve seen off-and-on splashes of showers but more recently things are calming down in las vegas. you see the bulk of the moisture to the northeast of us now. there s more expected over the next few hours, though. you can see that activity just to the south of us right now. like i mentioned, the bulk of it is to the east of us and continuing to move in a direction. we could see
