Depending on where you were Saturday night, the running of the first Las Vegas Grand Prix offered a wide range of perceptions.

The spectacle promised for months by Las Vegas Grand Prix organizers — a show unlike anything else on the F1 calendar — has come under the world’s microscope.

Fifty years after moving to Las Vegas, the Goodmans are wrapping up a quarter of a century during which one or the other has been the city’s mayor.

Penn Entertainment, the parent company of M Resort in Henderson, announced a $206 million expansion a year ago. It hasn't happened.

Sen. Dina Neal (D-North Las Vegas), whose district also covers neighborhoods nearby, spoke about discrimination against Black children and families through urban planning policies. She said it is common practice for policymakers to “take our poverty, our racial characteristics, plug it into a grant, get dollars and those dollars do not find their way back to [predominantly Black] ZIP codes.”

Fontainebleau Las Vegas is one approval away from opening on Strip, some 13 years after the hotel-casino halted construction due to financial issues.

High-end baccarat play on the Strip boosted Nevada's gaming revenue total in September as every major reporting market showed a monthly decline.

Speaking in front of more than 1,000 attendees, eight presidential candidates including former President Donald Trump, took the stage, each affirming full-throated support for Israel and denouncing pro-Palestine protests and antisemitic incidents on U.S. college campuses.

Despite months of preparation, F1 officials are still running into obstacles associated with holding a grand prix in one of the world’s most iconic tourist destinations — from busing in casino workers, dealing with unexpected (and costly) infrastructure demands and permanent changes to the face of the Strip.

The Tropicana will be demolished by late next year if all the pieces fall into place for a proposed relocation by the Oakland A's to a $1.5B stadium on the resort's Strip site.
