ARHS Held Its First COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Monday Published: 13 January 2021
Appalachian Regional Healthcare System held its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Monday for their patients who qualify according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services four-phase rollout plan.
The state is currently in phase 1b, group 1, which includes all adults 75 years or older. ARHS receives periodic allotments of vaccines from the state during each phase, and will focus efforts on established patients of Appalachian Regional Medical Associates as they receive supplies. Those who are eligible, but are not established patients of ARMA can attend vaccination clinics through AppHealthCare or Toe River Health District.
AMY Library Expands Hours, Prepares For NC Cardinal Consortium
The Avery-Mitchell-Yancey Regional Library System has changed hours of operation.
Hours were changed so staff can sanitize efficiently before/after patron use and to allow staff sufficient time to train and complete inventory tasks & training related to the transition to the NC Cardinal Library Consortium.
Daily hours of operation will be extended to accommodate patrons who wish to arrive at the library earlier or later in the day.
NC Cardinal is a statewide consortium of 41 library systems from 51 counties throughout the state that expands items available to nearly 7 million items statewide.
Paycheck Protection Program Re-Opens Published: 13 January 2021
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), in consultation with the Treasury Department, announced that the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) will re-open the week of January 11 for new borrowers and certain existing PPP borrowers.
To promote access to capital, initially only community financial institutions will be able to make First Draw PPP Loans on Monday, January 11, and Second Draw PPP Loans on Wednesday, January 13. The PPP will open to all participating lenders shortly thereafter. Updated PPP guidance outlining Program changes to enhance its effectiveness and accessibility was released on January 6 in accordance with the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Venues Act.
