MIDDLEPORT, Ohio Two North Carolina men were arrested on felony drug charges after a weekend traffic stop in Meigs County.
According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2010 Mazda with North Carolina registration was stopped for speeding around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 33. Troopers smelled marijuana and saw marijuana residue in the vehicle, prompting a search that yielded 3 pounds of methamphetamine and 30 grams of suspected cocaine, the patrol said.
The seized drugs are worth about $102,000, the release said.
Driver Jeffery Evans, 55, of Sparta, N.C., and passenger Maxamillion Millian, 20, of Elkin, N.C., were charged with possession and trafficking in methamphetamine and cocaine, which are first-degree felonies, the release said. They were incarcerated in the Middleport Jail.

OHIO Two North Carolina men have been arrested after Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers seized $102,000 worth of cocaine and meth from their vehicle during a traffic stop in Meigs County.
On Jan. 2 around 7:30 p.m., troopers pulled over a 2010 Mazda for speeding on U.S. 33, according to the OSHP.
Troopers reported they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw marijuana residue in the car. After the passengers were asked to exit the car, a probable cause search found three pounds of meth and 30 grams of suspected cocaine.
The driver, Jeffery Evans, 55,, and passenger, Maxamillion Millian, 20, were arrested and are currently in Middleport Jail. They have been charged with with possession and trafficking ofmethamphetamine and cocaine, which are first-degree felonies.
