April 26, 2021 04:07AM By Michael Gagne, Record-Journal staff MERIDEN — Attorneys representing Meriden and a resident who filed a federal lawsuit against the city, its former police chief and a former police detective alleging First Amendment retaliation, have agreed to settle the matter, according to recent legal filings. Meriden resident Christopher Dingwell Sr. originally filed the complaint in 2017. It listed as co-defendants former Meriden Police Chief Jeffry Cossette, former union president and police Detective John Williams and the city of Meriden.
