Boscobel changed hands many times, beginning in the late 1800s. The house then sat vacant well into the 1900s. It was acquired by the U.S. Veterans Administration in the 1940s.
On April 16 the plaster ceiling in Boscobel’s historic library collapsed without warning, causing major damage to the room, its contents, and to adjacent rooms.
This September 1 through 10, the second annual Boscobel Chamber Music Festival festival, a partnership between the Boscobel House and Gardens and the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach, returns to Garrison for two weeks of performances and events that will showcase more than a dozen of the country’s most sought-after chamber musicians.
