May 19 Idaho's daily COVID-19 case count remained low on Tuesday, with the state adding 193 cases, according to data from the Department of Health and Welfare. Idaho's case count has fallen in May. On May 3 the state's moving seven-day average was 186 daily cases. That average has been between 158 and 167 since May 5, according to the data. New cases have yet to fall to levels seen this time .

BOISE Saint Alphonsus Health System is boosting its mobile vaccine outreach program thanks to a partnership with Blue Cross of Idaho. The health insurer has provided a $75,000 grant for Saint Alphonsus to purchase a Ford Transit Van and equip it for use as a mobile clinic to reach rural and underserved communities in southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon. “COVID-19 has highlighted health inequities in the communities we serve,” said Jennifer Palagi, vice president of Community Health and Well-Being at Saint Alphonsus Health System. “One of the most critical needs we’ve seen is access to health care in rural, underserved and medically fragile communities. That’s why we launched our mobile vaccine program, to remove barriers to access. This generous gift from Blue Cross of Idaho enhances our ability to meet our mission – provide care for our patients where they live and offer these critical services.”

Boise seniors first to receive COVID-19 vaccine from mobile outreach effort

BOISE – 30 eligible residents, staff and volunteers of Boise’s Good Samaritan Home received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine today as part of a Saint Alphonsus outreach to those who face challenges receiving or scheduling a COVID-19 vaccination. This is the first time the Saint Alphonsus mobile unit has delivered vaccines to a community off-site according to Jennifer Palagi, DNP, MPH, Saint Alphonsus Vice President of Community Health and Well-being.  “At the center of our mission is making sure we are doing the most we can for those who are underserved or may be in a vulnerable population.  These are eligible low-income seniors – some with disabilities – with little or no access to vaccines or vaccine appointments.”
