Pep Guardiola has admitted the injury Rodri sustained in Manchester City’s Club World Cup win on Friday is a “scare” as the club now face an anxious wait for his diagnosis.
Rodri suffered the injury in the 68th minute of the match after a late challenge from Fluminense midfielder Alexsander, who was shown a yellow card for the foul.
Rodri attempted to continue playing with what appeared to be a knock on his right knee, but was in notable discomfort and was substituted off in the 74th minute to be replaced by Manuel Akanji.
“It was a scare,” Guardiola said after.
