WAREHAM — A 21-year-old man charged with the murders of his parents in Middleboro was ordered held without bail and will undergo a mental health evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial.
Ryan True was arraigned Friday morning in Wareham District Court, two days after he allegedly stabbed his parents, 52-year-old David and 55-year-old Renee True, at 3 Highland St., where they lived together.
True, who has autism, and his defense attorney, Joshua Wood, requested that a doctor provide a preliminary evaluation to help the judge make a decision. Further evaluation will be done at Bridgewater State Hospital.
A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
