Central defender John McGreal will make his first appearance of the season against Derby on Saturday, in place of the suspended Georges Santos. McGreal, who has been injured for most of the last year, will partner Richard Naylor at the centre of the Town defence.

Unlucky Town bowed out of a cup competition on penalties for the second time this season after drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield in an exciting Worthington Cup encounter. Jamie Clapham was the only man to miss in the shoot-out after Tommy Miller and El-Hadji Diouf had scored the goals in normal time.

A second half David Johnson goal gave Town a victory in an understated Worthington Cup fourth round tie at Portman Road. Town took the lead early through Titus Bramble shot, but a Craig Bellamy penalty levelled after half-time.

Midfielder Tommy Miller is confident he will be OK to face Brighton on Saturday despite the elbow injury which kept him out of the trip to Sunderland last weekend. The injury has progressed as the week has gone on and Miller looks set to retake his place in a four-man midfield.

Town pulled off a famous 1-0 victory over Inter Milan as Alun Armstrong headed home a Jamie Clapham cross from the left in the 80th minute. Town had been the better side all night, but as so often this season the goal just didnt seem to come.

An 89th minute equaliser from Dimitrios Papadopoulos gave Burnley a point they probably deserved on the strength of their second half performance. Once again Town were patchy, despite going ahead inside the first minute through a John McGreal header. After Gnohere had equalised Darren Ambrose hit another stunner to put the Blues ahead at half-time.

A couple of members of the Town squad appear to be backing Tony Mowbray in his bid to become Towns new manager. The temporary boss takes his side to Readings Madejski Stadium this afternoon.

Town will count this 1-1 draw as points dropped rather than a point won. The Blues missed chance after chance as they largely outplayed West Ham United in a game where Town played most of the football and the Londoners showed a more physical side to their game. A very poor performance by referee Neale Barry aided their approach.

FBI agents arrested former Adelanto Mayor Rich Kerr at his home on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, more than three years after the agency raided his home and detained him amid a public corruption investigation.

The former mayor of Adelanto was arrested and charged with accepting bribes and kickbacks from cannabis operators.
