Boss Jim Magilton is yet to decide whether to include midfielder Alan Quinn in the side which takes on his old club Southampton at St Marys on Saturday. Quinn limped off at Stoke last Saturday with an ankle problem, but a subsequent scan showed no serious problem.

A 10th minute goal from Marcus Bent won Town another three points and took them out of the bottom three. Fulham had a late flurry but created little in the way of clearcut chances in an attacking game played in soaking wet conditions, much like the match earlier in the season at Craven Cottage.

Town eventually came through a tricky FA Cup tie at Dagenham and Redbridge, beating the Essex side 4-1 after going behind. The home side started strongly and went ahead through Junior McDougald before Sixto Peralta (2), Jim Magilton and the returning Marcus Stewart won it for the Blues. Once Town had gone ahead there was little doubt who would win with Town keeper Andy Marshall rarely tested.

Town will point to an awful refereeing display from Iain Williamson as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Millwall. Williamson harshly sent off Georges Santos in the second half but failed to do the same later on when Millwall keeper Tony Warner handled the ball outside of the area.

Town fell to yet another home defeat as Nolberto Solano, last years red card villain in this fixture, scored a first half winner for Newcastle. Town huffed and puffed and as ever had loads of possession, but as usual the crossing wasnt up to much and clearcut chances were very far and few between.

Town have been drawn at home to Conference League side Morecambe in round three of the FA Cup. Its the third time in three years the Blues have faced non-league opposition at this stage with Morecambe their opponents two years ago. Town visited Dagenham and Redbridge last season.

Town fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Derby County at Pride Park. Goals from Peter Kennedy and Daniele Dichio inside a minute just before the break put the home side ahead. A penalty from Tommy Miller and a header from Darren Bent won the Blues the point.
