Duhallow GAA clubs supporting their communities

With pandemic restrictions continuing through February, Duhallow GAA clubs are again mobilising teams or supporting task forces that are reaching out to the elderly and needy in their communities during these unprecedented times. Duhallow Junior Board Secretary Tony McAulliffe applauded the efforts of clubs on responding positively on coming up with ideas and offers to help their communities. There is no action on the fields yet clubs provide safe support to those in self-isolation and other vulnerable members of our communities and maintain that vital contact we all need in difficult times. Sonya's trolley delivers for Penny Dinners

One lucky subscriber to the St. Johns GAA fundraiser donated a Christmas shopping spree to Penny Dinners after winning an entry to a Trolley Dash at Millstreet s Supervalu. The name of Rathcoole s Tomás Ducey was pulled from the draw, with his wife Sonya having just two minutes to do a Supermarket Sweep style dash around the store, grabbing as much of their Christmas shopping as she could. It was a surprise to be pulled out and a pleasant trip to make to the aisles and I decided to donate the Christmas shopping to Penny Dinners , said Sonya who works at Supervalu. Sonya grabbed close on €325 -worth of Christmas shopping and St. Johns GAA added to the tally in support of a worthy cause.
