Minors in Earth science, geology, health, middle childhood education, physical education pedagogy, pre-ministry studies and public service and a concentration in astronomy will be discontinued, as well.
Mount Union, a liberal arts school with about 2,300 students, will develop plans for students enrolled in discontinued programs to enable them to complete degree requirements. Several programs will continue to exist as minors or contribute to the university s general education program, the school said.
Minors in communication studies, philosophy, religious studies and writing will continue to be offered.
A total of 36 students will be affected by the discontinuation of the majors and minors (14 seniors, 11 juniors, eight sophomores and three freshman). Six of the majors and two of the minors have students enrolled in them for fall 2021.
