Pedro Gonzales received the Oklahoma Star of Valor, the second-highest award given in the state, for heroic acts or bravery. “I was stabbed in the neck a couple of times and also on my eye and cut on my arm and on my hands as well,” Gonzales said.Gonzales risked his life to save his neighbor’s life in September.“I have 34 stitches, and if it hadn’t been for Pete, he would’ve killed me,” neighbor Gwendolyn Cargle said. “(Gonzales) is definitely my hero, and I thank God for him and the higher power.”A man attacked Cargle in her home.
