Abella gave the valedictory address to approximately 875 classmates in the Class of 2023 and a crowd of more than 4,000 during Waukegan High School’s 150th graduation Friday at Weiss Field, sending the graduates into their future.

The Environmental Club won the 2023 PEYA award for EPA Region 5 recently as one of 10 winners nationwide being honored Aug. 4 in Washington, in their case for exceeding their goal of neutralizing the carbon emissions generated at the school.
