A formal bill will soon be placed in the state assembly.

Pvt jobs: Jharkhand plans 75% quota for locals | India News

RANCHI: The Jharkhand government’s plan to reserve 75% of private sector jobs for locals has evoked a mixed response from the industrial circles here, with many saying that even though the move has a “noble objective” of addressing unemployment, it could pose problems for industrial growth and investments if such a law is enacted without proper skilling of the state’s workforce. To fulfil its poll promise, the Jharkhand government on Friday decided to reserve jobs with a monthly salary of Rs 30,000 in private firms for locals. A formal bill will soon be placed in the assembly. The move follows a similar one made by the BJP-led government in Haryana, which recently reserved 75% jobs for its residents. The decision was severely criticised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which had asked it to reconsider its decision. CII’s local unit in Jharkhand gave a similar reaction when asked to comment on the cabinet decision.

Lack of focus on MSME, power sector irks FJCCI | Ranchi News

Ranchi: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) termed the state Budget of 2021-22 FY as ‘balanced’ but said it was disappointed with the government’s silence on reviving industries and the MSME sector. FJCCI had met chief minister Hemant Soren and state finance minister Rameshwar Oraon before the commencement of the Budget session and had demanded a revival pack of 600 ailing MSME units, commercialisation of power supply in Jharkhand and measures to strengthen the single window clearance system of the state industries department. However, FJCCI’s key demands were overlooked in the budget document, which was tabled in Jharkhand Assembly on Wednesday.

1st Day, No Show: Empty Seats, Dubbed Movies | Ranchi News

Ranchi/Bokaro: Cinema halls and multiplexes in Ranchi and Bokaro remained shut on Monday even after the state government had given its nod to resume operations because of the stringent measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and lack of newly released films. In Ranchi, only Sujata Cinema, a single-screen theatre, opened with two films dubbed from south India and Hollywood but it has barely any takers. An official of the theatre said, “The 10 am show was cancelled as there was no audience while the matinee show had barely eight people. Running the theatre in such a situation would be difficult.”
