A Georgia man was waiting to receive his final paycheck from his former employer when he finally got paid … in the form of 91-thousand pennies.
Andreas Flaten found the mound of pennies in his driveway and even worse? They were covered in an oily substance that he was trying to wash off himself.
Luckily, Coinstar heard about Flaten’s penny problem and stepped in to help. The company, known for their coin-counting kiosks, took the $915 worth of pennies he’d been storing in a wheelbarrow in his garage and gave him $1,000 cash. They’re also donating $1,000 to be split between two Atlanta-area animal shelters of Flaten’s choice.
