The remains of Bannerman Castle on Pollepel Island used to catch my eye while I was taking the train to NYC. The landmark was once used as a warehouse for military surplus, built by scrap dealer Francis Bannerman VI to house equipment and munitions he began acquiring at the end of the Civil War.
