The Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) board opened its Tuesday, April 27, meeting with a surprise announcement: Executive Director John Griffin had requested an immediate leave of absence.

One of the 39 attendees to the virtual meeting was Jack Nagle, formerly the operations manager, who was tapped to serve as interim executive director.
Details of Griffin s leave of absence were discussed during a closed session at the end of the regular public meeting, as announced beforehand.
Brian Connor, new chairman of the AHA Board of Commissioners, told YourArlington on April 30 that board voted unanimously in closed session to approve Griffin s request for a three-month leave of absence, effective immediately.
Arlington official says Fontenot campaign harassed, threatened her
Wicked Local I’ve realized I’ve put myself into some jeopardy.but it is making me sick and I can’t sleep, Arlington Housing Authority board member Jo Anne Preston said this week, accusing the campaign of a Housing Authority candidate of repeated harassment which led her to file a report with Arlington police.
Preston told the Advocate multiple members of the campaign to elect Kelda Fontenot to the Housing Authority, have harassed and threatened her over her endorsement of another candidate, and a social media post she made about Fontenot s living situation.
